PPWR: Propagroup is ready for the future of sustainable packaging

PPWR: Propagroup is ready for the future of sustainable packaging

The new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) marks a major step toward a more circular economy, introducing stricter requirements for the design, reuse, and recycling of packaging across the European Union. Companies that manufacture, use, or manage packaging will need to adapt to a progressively evolving regulatory framework aimed at reducing environmental impact and increasing the use of recycled materials.

Against this backdrop, Propagroup already offers packaging solutions designed to meet the requirements that will become mandatory over the coming years, helping manufacturers prepare for the transition with confidence.

Packaging solutions already aligned with PPWR objectives

The PPWR entered into force in 2025 and will apply from August 12, 2026. Among its key provisions, the regulation requires that, from January 1, 2030, all packaging placed on the European market be designed for recyclability. It also establishes minimum recycled-content targets for plastic packaging. For industrial packaging, the minimum share of post-consumer recycled plastic is set at 35%, increasing to 65% from January 1, 2040.

To anticipate these requirements, Propagroup has developed packaging solutions that already align with the future European regulatory framework. Through its PSV (Second Life Plastic) certification, the company ensures the traceability and verified origin of the recycled materials used in its products, providing customers with packaging solutions that support compliance with upcoming PPWR requirements.

Supporting more sustainable industrial supply chains

Propagroup's approach combines innovation, product performance, and sustainability to help companies build more efficient and environmentally responsible supply chains.

For manufacturers and metalworking companies, packaging must ensure product protection while meeting increasingly demanding environmental and regulatory standards. Choosing packaging systems that are already aligned with future PPWR requirements can help simplify regulatory compliance, reduce the need for future packaging updates, and support corporate sustainability objectives.

By anticipating upcoming legislative changes, Propagroup continues to expand its portfolio of high-performance industrial packaging solutions that combine product protection, reliability, and sustainability, supporting customers as they prepare for the next generation of packaging requirements.
