Promostar to introduce new on-line diameter control system for ribbed wire

At wire & Tube 2026 in Düsseldorf, Promostar will introduce a new on-line technology for measuring and controlling ribbed wire diameter. The company will exhibit in Hall 17, Stand B18. The system has been developed to ensure high precision in diameter measurement and immediate corrective action during the rolling process.

On-line measurement and automatic profile correction

This solution is composed of a motorized rolling cassette and an optical device that ensures very precise measurement of the wire diameter.

Equipped with two brushless motors, the rolling cassette enables automatic correction of the profile rolls when the equivalent diameter falls outside the specified tolerance range. This closed-loop control allows operators to maintain consistent product quality without interrupting production.

As an alternative to automatic correction, the system can simply advise the operator through an audible alarm and warning light when the equivalent diameter exceeds the preset tolerance limits. This flexibility allows integration into different plant layouts and production strategies.

Meet Promostar at wire & Tube 2026

Visitors interested in discovering how this new technology can improve on-line diameter control in ribbed wire production are welcome to come visit Promostar at wire & Tube in Düsseldorf from April 13 to 17, where the company will share the stand H17/B18 with MEP.
