FIB Belgium to showcase the NEOGALVA acid-free electric annealing/hot-dip galvanizing line

In light of the necessity for green steel wire products as required by the European CBAM, the annealing / galvanizing process is a significant CO2 emission step.

FIB has developed an alternative to the classical gas-heated annealing /galvanizing line: the fully electrical and acid-free NEOGALVA annealing/galvanizing line. Dedicated to producers who want a compact and acid-free galvanizing line, the unit allows operation of wires up to a speed of 220 m/min (DV close to 400) while using only electricity to operate the line.

By skipping the usage of hydrochloric acid and flux, emissions both inside and outside the factory are minimized, and the line may be installed in buildings with much less” heavy industrial” requirements.

A demonstrator at industrial speed (1:1 scale) is operating at FIB premises and will be available to visit concurrently with the wire & tube 2026 exhibition (April 17, 20, and 21). This installation reflects FIB’s objective: not only to present a concept, but to demonstrate a fully operational industrial solution to wire producers.





The NEOGALVA DEMOLINE includes:

• High-speed payoff and take-up units ensuring accurate wire tension control
• An ultrasonic desoaping system for efficient degreasing and perfect surface preparation
• A high-efficiency induction annealing furnace with excellent operator ergonomics
• A controlled holding and cooling section with H₂ / N₂ protective atmosphere
• An electrically heated zinc bath equipped with latest-generation ergonomic FIB thermoplungers (95% efficiency)

In addition to the visit, the NEOGALVA demonstrator will allow interested wire producers to test some of their products at full 1:1 industrial speed upon request.
